I'm Bruce Thompson of Thompson Property Inspection, LLC. Thank you for pausing to read this website. I know the search for a home inspector in the Tyler area can be daunting. You have many choices and many times it is hard to distinguish one professional from another.
Home inspectors are licensed by the state of Texas; however, that does not make us all the same. We have varying qualifications, experience, equipment and even prices. It seems there is no standard.
I am a one-inspector company and take tremendous pride in my work. Home inspectors do not provide code inspections (though many of the state's standards are based on codes); however, I chose to study and take the necessary tests to become code-certified and, as far as I know, am the only licensed home inspector in east Texas that is code-certified.
So, how do you choose a home inspector? I know that home inspections require a lot of work and a thorough inspection depends heavily on the individual inspector's own effort and ethic.
I promise to give you my best effort.
When you call other inspectors, ask how long they will spend inspecting your home. I generally move at about 600 square feet per hour. Many other inspectors can do a 2,000 square foot home in 2 hours or less!
